Billy Williams recorded at least six versions of this song, an early hit that was one of his biggest: 27 August 1908 for Homophon, 21 December 1908 for Zonophone, ca. January 1909 for Jumbo, 28 September 1909 for Favorite, ca. September 1909 for Pathé, and a 1909 recording of uncertain date for Edison Standard Cylinder. Reissues appeared on several other labels, including the mid-1920s Canadian Starr-Gennett release shown above, with incorrect composing credits.1
